Magic Steps
A playful yet practical digital solution for Magic Steps, including a web app that digitizes child management and a website that warmly reflects the centre’s spirit.
Working on Magic Steps was an opportunity to design digital products that truly impact daily life. The centre wanted a solution that would handle Parents and their children’s registrations, ease communication between carers and parents, while reducing the stress of paperwork. We designed a web app where parents can register their children, manage their profiles, and keep track of important details. Features such as daily tick sheets and learning journals gave parents a clear window into their child’s progress, while carers benefited from having a structured, digital system that streamlined their routines. The result was not only efficiency but also stronger connections between carers, parents, and children.
Alongside the app, I designed the public-facing website for the centre. The visual approach was intentionally soft, colourful, and playful, using shapes and gentle tones to reflect the warmth and creativity of childhood. While the web app prioritized clarity and functionality, the website introduced the personality of Magic Steps, making it approachable and inviting to new families. Together, the two platforms complemented each other, supporting the centre’s mission and values both internally and externally.
This project was meaningful because it combined problem-solving with empathy. It showed how thoughtful design can reduce friction, strengthen relationships, and give parents peace of mind, while also helping carers focus on what matters most: caring for children.
